High Temperature ASM
To evaluate ways to improve upon the simplified FAA inerting system design in terms of cost and reliability, a prototype high temperature (350 deg F) ASM will be evaluated. The ASM will be sized (quantity of fiber) and performance data will be acquired detailing the NEA flow generated at a variety of input pressures and operational temperatures. The NEA flow generated at reduced permeate pressures (altitude) will also be examined as well as air flow in. These data will be used to perform systems analysis to determine what benefit, if any, could be garnered from this potential change in system configuration/operation.
